Bacary Sagna Biography

Bacary Sagna biography from http://www.contacttheplayers.com

Bacary Sagna plays for the France national side and Arsenal in the English Premier League. He is an adventurous right-sided full back who has also been played in the centre. His pace makes him a threat down the right wing, whilst his tackling ability has helped Arsenal get out of trouble on many occasions. He broke into the French national side in 2007.

After three years in the Auxerre first team, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger spotted the potential in Bacary and was willing to pay an initial fee of £6m to take Sagna across to north London. Sagna made his first team debut for Arsenal just 7 days after signing, on 19th July 2007.

He scored his first goal in professional football for the Gunners against Chelsea in March 2008, instantly making himself a favourite with the fans, and was voted by his fellow professionals into the PFA Team of the Year.

Sagna’s work rate and technical ability make him the first-choice Arsenal right-back, displacing Eboue, and he has a bright future at the club, having signed a new 5 year deal in June 2008.
